Western Australia is the only state to have its own dedicated transport publication. This is due to 96% of the industry being local, with 4% interstate and 2% of that being rail.
WA Transport magazine (WATM) has been published for 21 years (2015) and with its long established readership of senior management in the transport and associated sectors such as mining, drilling, civil, agriculture and local government; it is respected for its unbiased and informative local content.
WATM reaches over 12,000 readers per edition (11 editions per year), and has a high quality, readable design in full colour process with gloss laminate covers. It is printed and produced using the highest environmental standards (renewable forests, vegetable and soy inks plus biodegradable packaging).
The majority of the editorial is written ‘by industry about industry’ including the latest information from Main Roads HVO and the Department of Minerals and Energy (Dangerous Goods). Regular columnists include the hard-hitting Hornet’s Nest (Peter Swift), the Bird’s Eye View (Carol Messenger), Questions to the Minister (Dean Nalder - Minister for Transport) plus input from the WA Road Transport Ass and Livestock Rural Transport Ass, to which members receive the publication. Historical, human interest and life stories compliment go give an enjoyable and informative read.
